Well not much to report on the day today. I had my drain checked out and, while the doctor was very pleased with the progress, turns out I have to keep the drain for yet another two weeks. The cavity looks great and there’s only about 2 mL of fluid left to drain, but they still want to play it safe and leave the drain in.
I won’t lie, it was very hard to keep the tears of frustration down when the doctors said they wanted to play it safe but at least I know they are doing all they can to avoid any complications. While that is a comfort to me, in the moment all I could think was, “Sure, easy for you to say.” And the worst part is that I now want these next two weeks to go by quickly so I can get the drain out, but I really want them to last long since it is summer for us! What a conundrum. But as you know, that seems to be my life as of late. 🙂
So the news today was good, not great, and looks like I will be returning to Rochester in 2 weeks. We don’t have all the specifics yet but good news is I am growing more and more fond of this city. Being able to get out in this visit and explore all the fun places has helped Mayo to not become a place just associated with hospitals. There are a ton of great restaurants, quirky shops, and they’re all within walking distance! And I’m sure the weather hasn’t hurt either.
Part of our devotion this morning in “Jesus Calling.” Right on again:
“Do not fear what this day, or ANY day, may bring your way. Concentrate on trusting Me and on doing what needs to be done. Relax in My sovereignty, remembering that I go before you, as well as with you, into each day. Fear no evil, for I can bring good out of EVERY, situation you will ever encounter.”
Thankful that God can bring His joy and blessings into any situation.
