I am back, I am back!! Hello hello everyone, as I have said, I am back! I haven’t been able to blog over the past few weeks because Bryan and I have been out of town and without wifi. I would have mentioned it in an earlier post but I decided that announcing to the World Wide Web that we would be away from our home for a few weeks wasn’t the wisest idea. Nonetheless, I am back in town now and happy to be blogging again!
Not too much has happened since my last post. I mentioned to you that my tumor markers had gone up and that I would be rechecking them soon as well as doing some MRI’s; both of which will be happening this week. I have MRI’s on Thursday and tumor marker check on Friday. Go ahead and be praying with us for those tests! We are already thanking God for the good results to come.
Another health tidbit that is in the works is another trip to Mayo, possibly next week. I have spoken with my oncologist and he believes that I may now be a good candidate for a double mastectomy since I am so much healthier after having my colon removed. Nothing is set in stone, but we will be talking with my oncologist at Mayo soon to know whether or not we need to make a trip up there to plan for surgery. If so, I may be having surgery in the next couple months! I still would not be considered cancer free by medical standards but, as I have said before, we know that God is bigger than what the medical community says. Either way, surgery would just be one more precautionary step to take that will make sure we are doing all we can on our side to keep cancer away for good.
So, as of now, pray for clean scans and blood work later this week, (I’ll keep you updated as I get results), and pray for guidance for seeking out surgical options. My health journey isn’t over quite yet but I am stronger physically than ever before and this small reprieve from health obligations has renewed my strength mentally and physically! I am ready and eager to take the next step. Bring it on; my healing is coming.
