Happy Monday! What a weekend, what a day today… good times and guess what? More good news!
First I’ll start with the weekend. Bryan and I were back in Oldham County with my parents and, not only did we get to celebrate a beautiful wedding with family, we also got to go to my home church and visit all of my church family! And what a blessing it was.
Just walking through the doors, I started to tear up thinking of all the people I was about to see. All of the people who have been pouring into my life for over ten years. All of the people who I have worshipped with since 6th grade. All of the people I’ve worked nursery with. All of the kids I have been babysitting since they were little bitty. All of the people I have gone of mission trips with. All of the people who I have walked with, cried with, seen in the best of times and the worst of times, and loved as my brothers and sisters. And all of the people who, when tragedy hit my life, when everything seemed to fall apart, they stepped up. They lived up to, and far surpassed, their goal of being an authentic community and made sure that Bryan and I, and my family, were NOT going to go down in our battle. They acted exactly as God intended the body of Christ to when another part of the body is hurting. And all I can say is I must be an eyeball in the body because I could not stop crying!
I will never forget how it felt to stand up on that stage with Bryan, in the exact same place where we were married, and tell my dear church family the miracle of how God has healed me. Looking from face to face as I spoke between tears, all of the hugs, all of the love… it will forever be one of the sweetest moments of my life. Thank you New Life Church!! You know who you are and I hope we conveyed how much you mean to us!
Now in case you want some more good news, I’ve got some! This morning, I woke up, had some time to visit with Bryan, then he left for school, and… SO DID I! I went back to my school, completed the paperwork to enroll back in classes, and I will begin my phlebotomy externship and medical assisting externship this month! I will be finishing school a year later than I had planned but hey, I’ll still finish before Bryan so I’m thinkin’ I’m doing pretty good. I will be able to take my boards after I finish my externships and I should be working by the beginning of the new year. Finally, finally, I am back to having a life and having more life than I have ever had. What a great day!
I also talked with my nurse today and we got my tumor markers back… THEY ARE DOWN!!!!! Praise God. Now that the tumor is gone and I am cancer free, I am on my way to having the tumor markers to prove it.
I am so, so overwhelmed by what God has done in my life and I cannot wait to now use all that I have been through to help as many people as I can.
